The purpose of this news release is to identify the two police officers involved in Saturday morning’s officer involved shooting. They are Scott Fitzgerald, a 16-year veteran, and Troy Johnsen, an 8-year veteran. Both officers are currently on paid administrative leave, a standard procedure for personnel involved in a critical incident. The investigation is ongoing, in conjunction with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, also standard protocol for officer involved shooting incidents. There is no other information for release at this time.
