Santa Clara, Calif. – January 6, 2005– Bay Area sculptors are invited to compete for cash awards totaling $600 in an Indoor Sculpture Exhibition at City Hall juried sculpture show sponsored by the City of Santa Clara and its Cultural Advisory Commission. The deadline to enter is March 4, 2005 and the indoor show will run from April through September 2005.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the local community to view world class sculpture from Bay Area artists,” explains Santa Clara Cultural Advisory Commissioner and mixed-media artist, Michelle Feulner-Castro.
A jury composed of three Santa Clara Cultural Advisory Commissioners will choose the sculptures to be featured in the show. The sculpture show will begin with a free reception honoring the artists at Santa Clara City Hall, 1500 Warburton Avenue on Saturday, April 23, 2005 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
Artists wishing to enter works to the jury should submit slides of their work to Administrative Analyst Pam Morrison, Santa Clara City Hall, 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050 by Friday, March 4, 2005. Called "The Mission City”, Santa Clara is home to people, cultural traditions and customs from around the world. The Cultural Advisory Commission is a seven-member body that advises the City Council in matters associated with cultural enrichment and beautification of the City. The Commission holds public meetings at City Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday of most months. |
