The Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club was developed by the City's Sports & Open Space Authority on 155 acres of City-owned property. It is part of the Santa Clara Trade and Convention Center Complex which also includes the Convention Center, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and TECHMART office building.
The golf and tennis facility is operated by the Authority under a management agreement with American Golf Corporation. It features a championship 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Muir Graves. The golf course is links style, par 72, length 6,704 yards from the Green tees, 6,329 from the Yellow tees, 5,918 from the Black tees, and 5,492 from the Gray tees. The course is a challenging layout for all skill levels, and plays to a rating of 72.4 with a slope of 118. There is also an annual Junior Golf Program. The golf course was constructed on a sanitary landfill, and uses reclaimed water for irrigation.
The Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club also includes a lighted driving range, practice putting green, 7 lighted tennis courts, a Golf & Tennis Pro-Shop, locker room and shower facilities, David's Restaurant, which has a bar and banquet facilities, and plenty of parking. |
