This 0.3 acre mini park commemorates the Battle of Santa Clara and marks the City’s Sesquicentennial, 1852-2002, and the State of California’s Sesquicentennial (1850-2000).

On December 1, 2006, the park was re-dedicated as Geof Goodfellow Sesquicentennial Park after the City's former Director of Planning & Inspection, Geoffrey C. "Geof" Goodfellow who retired in April, 2005 after 34 years of dedicated service.
