YAC After School Programs
 

The Walter E. Schmidt Youth Activity Center (YAC) offers FREE sports related activities for Santa Clara Youth who are elementary or middle, or high school age. The After School Program is open to elementary and middle school students only. High school students may participate in the Open Gym program.

Kids working on computerResident Youth Card - Each participant must register for a resident youth card prior to attending. Cards are good from September through the following August. Participants must register for a new card each year. Participants are required to bring their ID cards each time they visit. The first card costs $5, and processing fees are charged to replace ID cards. Free programs meet at different times each week. Please check the monthly calendar for program plans and times.




Kids doing HomeworkHomework Room & Computer Lab - Open during the after-school program, the homework room is a quiet area where kids can get a head start on their homework. Textbooks from the elementary and middle schools are available for kids to use. The computer lab features 10 workstations with Microsoft Office programs for participants to do their homework.





Playing basketballOrganized Sports & Games
- Organized Sports & Games are offered for participants in grammar school and middle school. A variety of recreation from high-energy games to more passive activities is offered. Organized games will be held after school Monday through Friday. Check out the action-packed sports, games and activities planned each day.
