Items NOT Accepted

Items NOT accepted are as follows: garbage, any type of liquid including house & garden chemicals and cleaners, automobiles or auto parts containing fluid, explosives, live ammunition, medical or hazardous wastes (including batteries), or contractor-generated waste (including roofing, carpeting, drywall, tree trimmings, or tree stump removals). For information on how to dispose of these items properly, go to Garbage and Clean Green, or call the Street Dept. Corporation Yard at (408) 615-3080.
Hazardous waste may be taken to one of the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day events (See Important Refuse and Recycling Dates to Remember). For more information, contact the County Wide Household Hazardous Waste Program (CWHHWP) at (408) 299-7300.
