In recognition of Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month in November, the Central Library event will be a book reading and enactment of a family story about the unity in our diverse cultures.
We will also have Turban Tying where everyone is invited to try out colorful turbans and take memorable moments at the photo booth.
Performance :- Children and adults will come together for a narration and enactment of the book "The Enchanted Garden of Talwandi" by Jessi Kaur, our own, Bay Area Sikh author.
"She takes us to a magical place where the little animals and flowers in the garden have big personalities. They mirror the follies of human nature that make their beautiful garden a landscape of jealousy and strife. It’s a journey in which through the eye of the various animals, all being different, they realize they are still part of the same forest. This story brings home a powerful message of love to create harmony in a diverse world. The universal message of Love is embraced across the world, and much needed to be heard today."
