Get an inside look at city services through Santa Clara Works and Police Department Open House on June 1

Santa Clara Works will connect the community to the people who make our city work

The City of Santa Clara is presenting an opportunity for residents to see the people and projects that make Santa Clara work. The public is invited to two free family-friendly events on Saturday, June 1: Santa Clara Works and the Police Department Open House.

From street cleaning to repairing sewer pipes and distributing safe, potable water to producing electricity, a tremendous amount of work goes into delivering the types of services that make Santa Clara a great place to live and work. At Santa Clara Works, enjoy a hands-on experience with large trucks and equipment which deliver these essential city services from the Department of Public Works, Water & Sewer Utilities, and Silicon Valley Power. The Santa Clara City Library's Bookmobile will also be on site at Santa Clara City Hall. Food will be available for sale.

At the Police Department, meet sworn police officers and civilian professionals and learn about crime prevention tips. The Open House will include a tour of the Communications Center, temporary holding facility and patrol briefing room. The community will meet our K-9 teams and view police vehicles, such as the crime scene investigation van, mobile command center, armored rescue vehicle, patrol car, motorcycle and police bicycle. Specialized equipment will also be on display. A free bike valet is available at the Open House as well.
