The City of Santa Clara invites community leaders, advocates and the public to participate in the LGBTQ Pride Flag Raising Ceremony. The flag raising ceremony celebrates significant milestones in the LGBTQ history.

Also, during the June 4 meeting, the City Council will proclaim the month of June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGTBQ) Pride Month. On Nov. 13, 2012, the City adopted Ordinance No. 1899 to “protect and safeguard the right and opportunity of all persons to be free from all forms of arbitrary discrimination, including discrimination based on age, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, marital status, sex, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity.”
