The City of Santa Clara is proposing a General Plan Text Amendment and Land Use Diagram Amendment to remove the De La Cruz Future Focus Area, and the Lawrence Station West and Central Expressway Focus Areas from the General Plan and apply the Heavy Industrial, Light Industrial, and Low Intensity Office R&D, land use designation to these areas consistent with existing uses, and their previous land use as identified on the General Plan’s Phase I Land Use Diagram. Focus Areas are a component of the General Plan that provides goals and policies to guide the redevelopment of existing underutilized industrial/office areas into new mixed use and residential neighborhoods.
