About the Project

Related Santa Clara is a unique partnership between the City of Santa Clara and Related Companies to create a LEED-certified, multi-phased, mixed-use destination adjacent to Levi’s Stadium. This urban center will incorporate residential units, restaurants, entertainment venues, hotels, retail, and office space to establish a new neighborhood in a pedestrian oriented “live, work, play” environment.

Related Santa Clara consists of 9.2 million square feet of mixed-use development with a city center of commercial office, retail/entertainment including a globally inspired food market, 1,680 residential units, 700 hotel rooms and approximately 5 million square feet of corporate office space. The development will also feature new roadways and the creation of a 30-acre city park. The project site consists of 240 acres located at 5155 Stars & Stripes Drive in Santa Clara, CA.

Construction Impacts

Road Closures

Road closures for the pre-construction and construction phases of Related Santa Clara are in effect for all transit users, pedestrians, vehicles and bicyclists. This may impact those traveling to Great America Train Station, Youth Soccer Park, or Levi’s Stadium.

NOV 2020 Updated Related Santa Clara Road Closure Map

When: Centennial Boulevard and Stars and Stripes Drive will be closed until further notice.

  • New Exit Ramp and Temporary Road / Stars and Stripes Extension: Vehicles traveling eastbound on Tasman Drive can access the Great America Train Station and the Youth Soccer Park via a new exit ramp. Soccer park access via Marie P. DeBartolo Way will remain unchanged. All vehicular traffic leaving the Great America Train Station area will exit northbound on the new temporary road (Stars and Stripes Drive extension) to a new traffic signal installed at Great America Parkway.

  • Access from Great America Parkway: Cars traveling southbound on Great America Parkway can access the affected area by turning left onto Tasman Drive. Cars traveling northbound on Great America Parkway can access the affected area by turning right onto either Tasman Drive or the Stars and Stripes extension.

  • Bike Lane Access: The Stars and Stripes Drive extension will have bike lanes in both directions to and from the Great America Train Station connecting to Great America Parkway. The new exit ramp will have a separated two-way multiuse path for bicycles.

  • Pedestrian Access: The new exit ramp will have a separated two-way multiuse path for bicycles and pedestrians. The Stars and Stripes Drive extension will not have pedestrian access.

  • San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail pedestrian and bicycle bridge is temporarily CLOSED.

Temporary Closure of Fire Station 10

Fire Station 10, currently located at 5111 Stars & Stripes Drive, closed on March 1, 2020 while preparations begin for replacing and relocating the station. Related Companies funded the roughly $2.2 million renovation of Fire Station 8, in preparation for Phase One of construction at no cost to taxpayers. The developer is also funding approximately $15 million for the construction and relocation of a new Fire Station 10, to be built during Phase Two of the Related Santa Clara development.
