On Thursday, February 2, 2017, the City of Santa Clara will host a Community Meeting from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 1500 Warburton Avenue, Santa Clara.  You are invited to learn more about a new development concept for the following property:

 2330

Site Summary

Location:    2330 Monroe Street
APN:          224-37-068
Property:    2.47 acres (or 107,767 square feet)
Current Zoning:   R1-6L - Single Family
General Plan Designation:   Right of way

The City has entered into an Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement (ENA) with the Sobrato Organization, LLC for the development of approximately 2.5 acres of land owned by the Santa Clara Housing Authority at the southerly corner of San Tomas Expressway and Monroe Street.  The property was acquired with former Redevelopment Agency funds in 2005 that requires the site to be developed to support affordable housing within the City of Santa Clara.

At this time, no formal development applications have been filed with the City.  The purpose of this meeting is to receive community input on the development.  The developer will provide an information session on the development concept, which currently envisions a two-story development with approximately 200 affordable housing units, each of which would be 160 to 240 square feet in size, and a community building. The concept is to provide permanent housing for individuals who are experiencing homelessness. The developer will also discuss potential on-site services and operational characteristics of the proposed facility.  Following the presentation the developer will provide a question and answer session for the public.

A printed copy of this notice has been mailed to property owners within 1,000 feet of the subject property.
