Participate in Public Meetings

The City of Santa Clara encourages the community to participate in public meetings. Public meetings may be held in a hybrid format (with both in-person and online attendance options), virtually (completely online), or in-person only. Information about how to watch and participate in public meetings, view meeting agendas, submission of written/digital materials by the public at City Council meetings, and submission of written public comment at City Council meetings can be found below.

City Coucil and Planning Commission Joint Study Session

The City of Santa Clara is comprehensively updating its Zoning Ordinance, Title 18, and this Joint Council Study Session with the Planning Commission will discuss the topics of Safe Parking and Assisted Living. Safe Parking provisions are intended to legalize the ability to sleep in one’s vehicle in specific off-street parking lots which would be required to adhere to operational and safety standards through new Code provisions or permit conditions. The City also intends to discuss the topic of Assisted Living, and how to regulate the spectrum of senior living arrangements from stand-alone senior residences with few supportive services to nursing homes. The public will have an opportunity to speak at this meeting, however no actions will be taken. Should you have any questions, please call the Planning Division office at (408) 615-2450.
