Holiday Tree Lighting Event
Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Event
Central Park, 969 Kiely Blvd.
Friday, Dec. 6, 2019
5 - 8 p.m.
On December 6, 2019, the City of Santa Clara will celebrate its 109th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony with a modified program. The event will honor the late Bill Shaddle a beloved community volunteer as the 2019 Honorary Tree Lighter. This year, “Teddy” will make its 108th appearance atop the lights of the holiday tree. Due to forecasted inclement weather the event has been modified.
Children visiting Santa may take a photo and will be given a teddy bear reminiscent of “Teddy”, the Santa Clara holiday tree topper in the Auditorium. Join us for hot cocoa & cookies, visit with the generous event sponsors, City community partners and Department booths, create holiday crafts in Santa’s Workshop inside the Community Recreation Center.
See performances under the big tents by Buscher Middle School, Laya's Art Collective and the Santa Clara Dance Team hosted by Miss Santa Clara. The Ice Skating rink will be open “weather permitting” to first come first served skaters for $5 per person.
ADA & limited parking will be available in the Community Recreation Center parking lot, the Pavilion parking lot and Patricia drive in front of Fatjo Field and the International Swim Center.
