Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Santa Clara city leadership has made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s 4th of July All-City Picnic & Fireworks Extravaganza. Based on Governor Gavin Newsom’s update this week where he laid out his roadmap for re-opening California with 4 stages, coupled with the revised local order that goes into effect May 4, cancelling the Independence Day celebration was the safest option for Santa Clara, given the seriousness of this public health emergency. The City of Santa Clara invites the community to attend the free 4th of July All-City Picnic & Fireworks Extravaganza in Central Park, 969 Kiely Blvd., from noon - 9:30 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase food prepared by local community groups and food trucks. Kids’ activities include carnival games, hands-on crafts, face painting and free swimming at the International Swim Center. Enjoy live entertainment on the Main stage.
