The Planning Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the physical development of the City. The Commission makes recommendations with respect to land subdivisions, zoning as prescribed by ordinance, and more. The Planning Commission consists of seven commissioners that are volunteers and are appointed by the City Council. To be eligible, you must be a registered voter and resident of Santa Clara, and may not hold any paid office in, or be employed by, the City of Santa Clara. Downtown Santa Clara - Share Your Ideas! - UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING E-NOTIFY LIST

The City of Santa Clara, a Task Force of citizens, and a team of planners, designers, economists, and others, informed by the community, have completed “Phase 1” of the Downtown Precise Plan planning effort. We are looking for your feedback on three Land Use Concepts for the future of Downtown Santa Clara.
At this link you will find background information and a Survey that asks what you like and don’t like about the land use concepts. It should take 5 or 10 minutes to complete the survey. Following your feedback, the concepts will be turned into a preferred land use framework for further development. Please note, the Survey closes on May 15.
You will also have the opportunity to sign up for “Meeting Out of the Box”, facilitated small group discussions that will provide an additional opportunity for you to provide more in-depth input.
