Presenter - David Quan DPT, CSCS Occupational Medicine Rehab Supervisor
I received my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. During this time, I had the opportunity to work as a student athletic trainer. As a trainer, I worked with collegiate athletes in various sports. I participated in both their rehabilitation and training to help them excel on the court and on the field. As a result of this, my interest in physical therapy developed. I attended Physical Therapy School at the University of Southern California. GO TROJANS! During my studies, I worked with renowned professors in all aspects of the industry. They provided me the knowledge and skill set to be an effective clinician. In 2003, I completed my studies and was awarded my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. To advance myself further, I completed the Kaiser Permanente Mentoring Program in Orthopedics. With this opportunity, I was able to work under the direct tutelage of leading therapists in the physical therapy field. They provided me hands-on training to help perfect my skills. In addition, I received my certification as a strength and conditioning specialist. This certification provided me with further understanding and skills for exercise prescription and sport specific drills.

As a member of the Kaiser Permanente team, I have worked with spinal dysfunctions, knee/shoulder/ankle disorders, geriatrics, repetitive strains, sport-related injuries, and a variety of post-operative patients.

These monthly health talks are presented by Kaiser Permanente Health Talk Series.
