Santa Clara Seed Share Event

Join us at the Santa Clara Seed Share to talk about spring gardening, share different seed varieties, exchange knowledge, enjoy some time outdoors and take advantage of this seed giveaway event! We hope to see you there, Saturday, Jan. 27 from 2-4 p.m. at Eddie Souza Community Garden, 2380 Monroe Street.

Seed Share Activities and Special Guests:

• Bring your plant cuttings, your empty pots, lightly used garden tools and creations and, your saved seeds to exchange with others at this event.
• Community Garden Tour at 3:00pm
• Master Gardener Seed Starting Demo at 3:30pm
• Visit the City of Santa Clara Seed Library table to see where you can get free seeds year round

Seed Share event Best practices:

• If you are sharing seeds or plants, label your containers with the type of plant, year the seed was saved and any other information you have about the plant.
• No seeds to share? Some participants will bring harvests from fruit trees or jams and jellies to taste. 
• Bring a pen and a bag to carry your seeds.
• The City will provide some envelopes for your convenience. 
• Participants may share their seeds with no expectation of an exchange. However some participants only want to exchange their seeds/cutting for others. Both are okay.
• Please respect tolerance of each individual.
• When taking seeds, only take a small amount. One seed packet can can be split 5 to 50 times depending on the seed.
• You do not need to bring anything to participate.
