Regulations Regarding Contributions Influencing Santa Clara City Elections
Ordinance No. 1979 (Dark Money Ordinance)
This ordinance, also known as the "Dark Money" Ordinance is intended to shine light on the origin of financial support for and against local election candidates and measures.

Information on Candidate Elections
- Only registered voters who reside in District 1, 4, 5, and 6 may run for office (4 year terms)
- Only registered voters who reside in District 1, 4, 5, and 6 may vote for their respective candidates
- Only registered voters who reside in the City of Santa Clara may run for the elected at-large offices of Chief of Police and City Clerk (4 year terms)

Measure I
Official Ballot Language
To improve 911 emergency response; fix streets to reduce potholes and provide safer roads and routes for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists; upgrade storm drains/pipes to prevent flooding/sinkholes; and renovate/replace recreation, library and other community facilities; shall the City of Santa Clara's measure authorizing $400,000,000 in bonds, funded by levying an estimated $19 per $100,000 of assessed value while bonds are outstanding, generating approximately $21,674,000 annually, with annual audits and citizen oversight of spending, be adopted?
