Thanksgiving Day Holiday Closure
Most City Hall offices, including the Permit Center, will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, as well as Friday 29, 2024 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Emergency services will continue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information, please visit the Holiday Closures webpage.

Walk-ins are also welcome, though wait times may vary. Virtual and in-person appointments are available for over-the-counter services. If you would like to schedule an over-the-counter appointment for reviews or questions related to an active Building permit application, please contact your assigned plan checker directly.

Services
The Building Division is located at 1500 Warburton Ave. The Division administers City and State regulations for the design, construction and use and occupancy of all buildings under its jurisdiction in the City of Santa Clara. The Division provides the following services:
Mission
The Building Division provides high quality and efficient services for the community through its Permit Center, Plan Review, and Inspection Services. The Division is responsible for the approval of projects across the span of its many stages from permit issuance, design review, construction, to use. In addition, the Building Division staff ensures buildings and structures are in compliance with the Building Code in order to safeguard the public health, safety and general welfare of people in the built environment.
