About Us
The Police Department provides law enforcement and policing services to the City of Santa Clara.
"The Mission of the Santa Clara Police Department is to always provide quality police service to the public. Working together, and in partnership with the community, we will identify and resolve problems utilizing all available resources. We will perform this service professionally and with integrity."
We provide law enforcement services with a professional and dedicated staff. Our Fact Sheet summarizes the Department’s authorized strength and budget, while our Recruiting page highlights the full-time, part-time and volunteer opportunities available.
The men and women of our Department take tremendous pride in providing our community with outstanding service by means of the “Santa Clara Way.” This work ethic and attitude contributes to our low Crime Statistics. SCPD is led by a six member Command Staff, who oversee the Department's Divisions.
Our community can connect with our Department on social media, get involved in our programs (e.g. Chat with the Chief, Citizens’ Police Academy, Coffee with a Cop, National Night Out, Neighborhood Watch, Talk and Tour, etc.) or learn more about the services we provide (e.g. Abandoned Vehicle Abatement program, MedicAlert Identification program, Pharmaceutical Disposal program, Video Surveillance Camera registration, etc.).
