Police Activities League
Police Activities League (PAL)
Former Chief of Police Frank Sapena founded the Santa Clara Police Activities League (PAL) in 1970. The goal was to bring law enforcement personnel, community volunteers and children together in a positive setting.
PAL is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching our youth the values and rewards that can be accomplished through self-determination, belief in one’s self, desire, teamwork and respect for others. Community volunteers lead a variety of PAL programs, including Soccer, Boxing, Bowling, Bicycle Moto-Cross (BMX), Girl’s Softball, Judo, Roller Hockey, Wrestling, Fishing and Police Explorers. PAL programs are available for children ages 5-18.
The PAL Board does its best to keep registration fees to a minimum and conducts several fundraisers to fund sports equipment, uniforms and insurance. Donations from local residents and businesses are also sought. You can support PAL by participating in a community event, such as the Fourth of July All-City Picnic, the PAL Golf Tournament and the Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival. To volunteer or make a donation, contact the PAL office at (408) 615-4880, 601 El Camino Real, Santa Clara or by visiting the PAL website.
It is important to note, Santa Clara PAL does not telephone residents seeking donations. If you receive a phone call where an individual represents him/herself as a representative of Santa Clara PAL, please hang up and contact the PAL office.
