Past Community Outreach Events
On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the project team held “pop-up” events at both the Farmer’s Market and Northside Library to present the draft recommendations for the Santa Clara Bicycle Master Plan Update 2018. Passersby were asked to provide feedback on the draft projects and to indicate which projects they would like to be built first.
Similarly, on November 7, 2018, the project team held a public open house at the Central Park Library to also gather input on the draft recommendations. The open house included a short presentation with information about the project background, more information on the types of projects being proposed, and next steps. Like the “pop-up” events on Saturday, November 3, 2018, attendees were able to view the maps of the proposed projects at a larger scale and discuss opportunities and constraints with fellow community members and the project team. Attendees were also able to share the projects they would like to be prioritized.
The information provided at these meetings will help refine the project list and provide the city with a list of projects that should be prioritized when requesting funding. This list will be incorporated into the full Draft plan, which will be presented to the community in early 2019.
