Background
On January 7, 2020, the City received a written petition regarding traffic calming noise/sideshow issues along Briarwood Drive between Cabrillo Avenue and Warburton Avenue. On February 11, 2020, the City Council discussed the written petition and residents discussed their concerns. City Council then directed City staff to return to City Council to provide an update on the issues related to Briarwood Avenue.
Updates
The City completed a traffic engineering study and on June 3, 2020, the City held a virtual community meeting to discuss the results of the study.
On July 7, 2020, the City Council approved the installation of speed humps along Briarwood Drive between Cabrillo Avenue and Warburton Avenue.
After additional field work and engineering design, in September 2020, the City finalized the location of the speed humps and completed the design.
On October 8, 2020, the City delivered notification letters to properties within 100 feet of the proposed speed humps.
In December 2020, the City completed the installation of three (3) speed humps on Briarwood Drive.
