Menu2024 Annual Street Maintenance & Rehabilitation Project
Construction for the 2024 Annual Street Maintenance and Rehabilitation Project by the City’s contractor, Teichert Construction, started in June. The improvement work to replace failed pavement areas throughout the city street network will continue through November 2024 with final project completion anticipated in December 2024.
The project consists of removing and replacing failed pavement areas, constructing new ADA-compliant curb ramps, installing hot mix asphalt, applying slurry seal surface treatments, and replacing pavement markings. Some streets set to receive the slurry seal and/or new asphalt paving are east of Lawrence Expressway (between Stevens Creek Boulevard and Mauricia Avenue, Brookdale Drive and Benton Street, Cabrillo Avenue and Monroe Street), east of San Tomas Expressway between Cabrillo Avenue and Monroe Street, west of San Tomas Expressway between Monroe Street and Walsh Avenue, east of Scott Boulevard between Benton Street and El Camino Real, east of Lafayette Street between Eisenhower Drive and Hogan Drive.

Traffic Advisory
Expect lane closures and delays starting Monday, October 7th through Thursday, October 17th for utility adjustment except weekends and holidays.

What to Expect
- Typical construction work hours will be Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- No parking signs will be posted on barricades 72 hours prior to work.
- Avoid being towed in no parking zones by moving cars to driveways or other streets.
- Expect possible delays and rough driving surfaces. Drive slowly through construction zones.
- Traffic flow may be affected during construction hours.
- During periods of construction, some traffic lanes will be closed.
- Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
- Garbage & recycling collection dates/days should not be affected; however, the time of day may change (usually earlier).
