Landscape Rebates

Planting and irrigation upgrades create attractive and resilient low water gardens. Commercial and Multi-Family sites of 5 or more units are eligible for up to $110,000 per site (lifetime rebate cap).

	Landscape Conversion*	Replace lawn with water efficient landscaping
	Lawn to Mulch**	Convert at least 15,000 square feet of turf to chipped wood or bark mulch
	In-line Drip Irrigation	Switch out overhead sprinkler irrigation to in-line drip system
	Irrigation Equipment Upgrade	Modernize to high efficiency irrigation controllers & equipment

*Sites eligible for $3 per square foot for the first 10,000 square feet and $2 per square foot thereafter

	Landscape Surveys Commercial, industrial or institutional sites and multi-family properties in Santa Clara with a minimum of ½-acre of irrigated landscape and/or 1,000 CCF of annual irrigation water use may be eligible for a free Large Commercial Landscape Survey. 	Submeter & Private Well Rebates Multi-family homes or mobile home parks may receive a $150 rebate per installed submeter for individual tenants to measure and bill tenant water usage; submeters can reduce water use up to 30%. Private wells located within one of Valley Water's active groundwater charge zones may be eligible to receive a $150 rebate by installing a new, Valley Water approved water meter. 	Water Efficient Technology (WET) Rebate Commercial & industrial facilities, plus institutions like schools, parks, hospitals and government agencies, may qualify for rebates up to $100,000 per conservation project to implement equipment changes that reduce water use. 	Free Messaging & Equipment Valley Water provides the following free to businesses: Table tents* for restaurants "Drinking Water By Request" Hotel "Linen Reuse" Card High-efficiency faucet aerators - 0.5 gallons per minute Pre-rinse sprayers - 1.15 gallons per minute To make a commercial messaging or equipment request, email Conservation at Valley Water. *To help conserve water, the City of Santa Clara asks that restaurants serve water only upon request. Restaurants may place table tents to clearly state by-request-only water service to guests.
