The City of Santa Clara’s On Demand video service allows residents to access live and archived City Council meetings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We recently updated our SIRE application to switch from a Silverlight player to a HTML5 player. The HTML5 player does not support the WMV format that is natively streamed.  For this reason, live stream will not work on Chrome. Other browsers (including Safari) do not experience this issue. SIRE automatically converts your videos to MP4 once uploaded so they can be played by the HTML5 player.

The following chart lists compatible operating systems and browsers.

How to use this Site
Meetings are arranged by Upcoming Meetings and Recently Archived Meetings. When a council meeting is in progress, a ‘view live video’ link will appear to the right of the meeting date and type. Clicking on this link will open a new browser window that will display the live video feed and the associated agenda with linked reports.

Past meetings will also include a summary of actions in addition to an agenda and video. Clicking on any of the highlighted agenda items will take you to the associated point of the video.
