The City of Santa Clara, together with The Salvation Army and Second Harvest Food Bank, provided Santa Clara families free essential food items through the Food For Families program. The Food For Families program kicked off in November 2020 and distributed food for 33 weeks through June 30, 2021. The partnership provided free food items to those in need and impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. An estimated 16,809 boxes of food totaling over 369,000 pounds of food were distributed. The program provided food to 5,603 households, 16,413 individuals with 670 households registered. The Food For Families Program ended on June 30, 2021.
